Youth for Social Change

0

Young age is a dynamic age for high dreams and  recrudescence of enthu siasm. Youth is known for its characteristic exuberance of energy, pugnacity and the will to fight and surmount difficulties and to take bold initiatives. It is the time when man has the spirit of inspiration to do something special.

It is during that period this man can learn art, language and Science because of his memory power and having the good learning capacity. It is the period when man can enter into the world of Information Technology and can create new things in the Computer World.

It is the period when man's faculties of innovation, ingenuity and its inventive and creative tendencies are at their crest. The period of youth is also characterised by the spirit of adventure and with a growing sense of responsibility and maturity.

A man in his young age can thus make a lasting contribution to the society with his ideas, courage, creations for art and architecture can bring new innovative solutions. This period of life is, therefore, of paramount significance.

We see that the college/university students now-a-days called upon to do some social service. Some of them organise village youth and help them to build canals so that they can water their fields, others approach in helping mentally or physically disabled persons. Such kind of acts are, no doubt, a service to a section of the society.

But, if, besides doing this kind of service, the youth take up the work of paving the path of their life with purity and peace, honesty and integrity, sincerity and sympathy, they will be taking great steps in building a clean, green and golden society.

If they spend some energy for building bridges of understanding and humility, they would be working as great and worthy instruments of social change, moral transformation, economic transformation and spiritual creativity.

Youth have always won appreciation and adoration for their acts of adventure, bravery and sportsmanship. They go to the places which were not traversed by any one before. But they would be doing a work of great importance if they embark upon the adventure of entering into the new areas of truth about the self and God. They would be making multi-million discoveries if they understand the key to the mystery of Self.

The youth have the strong will and stamina which embolden them to accept new challenges. Once the youth has determination to win, he will face all odds and obstacles and make all sincere efforts to keep up to his promise or commitment.

But it is as sure as life that if they now accept the challenge of the evil forces which have ganged up against man and have brought untold ravages to mankind, then the youth will be doing a real service by helping to create a new society of goodness and happiness.

And; if the youth is found entering into politics, then let him participate to win the hearts of the masses. But, before he starts politicking, he must first learn the art of ruling over the self. Let him first govern his own sense organs his mind and maintain law and order.

Youth are fond of fashion work as great instruments of great change and creativity. Creativity in its true sense means to create something new out of old with permanent benefits. But for bringing a new change, we require golden and revolutionary ideas. We have to change from old to new. We have to be reborn. Though everyone has chance to absorb new ideas, it is particularly the youth who is best suited for this.

Let us understand when natural resources of energy are getting depleted, the energy of youth is in its great supply. Let this energy not be wasted on sex-films or on violence and disruptive activities but on creating a New World-Order where there is amity among men and peace.

Let this energy be used towards full development of the mind and spirit so as to conquer new peaks of spiritual glory.
